As we are coming out of covid and ramping up the Tetrick Hospice Caregiver award program, I would like to take the opportunity to nominate Angie Fletcher as the Tetrick Hospice Caregiver of the Month recipient.
Having been the Community Relations/Outreach person for Tetrick Funeral Services for over 10 years, I have had the pleasure and privilege to have known Angie since the doors were opened in Johnson City for Avalon Hospice. I saw where a new hospice group had come to Johnson City and found out where the office is located and proceeded to call on the staff there. Angie met me at the door with a smile and enthusiasm, gave me a tour, and I have worked with her in various capacities since then.
To me, she has been “the glue that has held the place together” through thick and thin since this office has opened. No matter what kind of day she is having, she greets you with her beautiful smile and wonderful personality with Princess by her side.
I know that she isn’t in constant contact with a family member or patient like the nurses and other staff members are but she works as hard and tirelessly for them as much as any other staff member would. She goes the extra mile for the families they serve and I feel that she is so deserving of this award.
With so many new staff members having recently come on board the Avalon staff, I wanted to take this opportunity to acknowledge and award Angie for an extraordinary job in handling many different situations.

Tetrick Funeral Services takes pleasure in selecting Ariel Wood, RN with Amedisys Hospice in Elizabethton, TN as our December 2022, Hospice Caregiver of the Month recipient.
Ariel was nominated by Linda C. Becker whose husband Russ she took care of. Linda stated, “Ariel helped in taking such excellent care of Russ. She came on Friday, her day off, to check on him. Then, she came on Saturday before going out of town on a family trip.
She brought a calmness to Russ when no one else could. He allowed her to put his oxygen on and give him his medicine. She was the only one who could get him to cooperate in this process.”

Debbie was nominated by a co-worker Rachel Stoner who said that “Debbie goes above and beyond anything expected in helping our patients. Her kindness and patience is like no other. Debbie builds trust with our patients and their families and is always available to assist them in any way that she can no matter the day or the hour. Debbie has a true servant’s heart and always put our patient’s needs first before her own.
Because of her dedication in serving our families and patients with such excellence, I feel that she is so deserving of this award.

Justin Taylor from Caris Hospice in Johnson City, TN was nominated Tetrick Funeral Services March 2022, Hospice Caregiver of the Month

Hannah had the following to say about Justin and why he deserves to be a Hospice Caregiver of the Month award recipient.
JUSTIN CONSISTENTLY GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND FOR PATIENTS AND FAMILIES. I HEAR COMPLIMENTS EVERYWHERE I GO. HE TAKES EXTRA TIME TO MAKE OUR PATIENTS FEEL SPECIAL. HE IS GENUINELY KIND. HE IS RESOURCEFUL AND ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP PATIENTS, CO-WORKERS, AND FAMILIES ALIKE. HE OFTEN STEPS UP AND TAKES CARE OF THE NEED BEFORE YOU EVEN KNOW THERE IS A NEED. Tetrick Funeral Services takes pleasure in selecting Keith Greene, RN with Amedisys Hospice in Elizabethton, TN as our November 2022, Hospice Caregiver of the Month recipient.
Keith was nominated by Linda C. Becker whose husband Russ he took care of. Linda stated, “Keith went out of his way to help not only Russ but also myself.”
Russ came home from the Hospital on a Thursday and Keith came that night to introduce himself and he registered Russ into Amedisys Hospice. He called the doctor that night after determining that Russ needed a certain prescription. Keith then went to the drug store and picked the medicine up and brought it back and gave it to Russ before leaving.
On Sunday Keith returned and stayed with me for a long time and answered any and all questions that I had for him.
He made this hard time much easier for me to live through. His dedication and sacrifice to the care of his patient and helping his wife navigate hospice was a godsend for me.
