Robert Marvin Folks

April 6, 1940 - January 19, 2022

Robert Marvin Folks, age 81, of Roan Mountain, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Robert was born in Galena, Illinois to the late John and Helen Stodden Folks. Robert was a writer and had published one book and was working on another one. He also owned and operated his own boat building business and was a United States Navy veteran. He was a master craftsman and enjoyed building tables and other pieces of furniture out of antique wood. He was a member of Holland Club and taught submarine school for years. Those left to cherish Robert’s memory include his wife Constance M. Folks of the home; his son, Christopher (Janet) Folks of Greeneville, SC; a daughter, Melissa Folks of St. Petersburg, FL; one grandson, Robert C. Folks of Roan Mountain, TN; a brother, Gerald Folks of Hazel Green, WI; and a sister, Mary Ann Lee of Scales Mound, IL. Several nieces and nephews also survive. An inurnment service to honor Robert’s life will be conducted at Mountain Home National Cemetery at a later time.
