Norma Lee Cook

April 30, 1930 - April 11, 2022

Norma L. Cook, age 91, of Roan Mountain, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Norma was born in Roan Mountain, Tennessee to the late Jake and Susie McKinney Street. In addition to her parents, Norma was also preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Cook (who was a veteran of WWII); and four brothers, Ray Street, Bill Street, Paul Street and Jr Street. Norman was a wonderful and dedicated mother and wife. She always liked to have her nails done and her hair up. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed gardening, decorating her home for the holidays and cooking for her family gatherings. Those left to cherish Norma’s memory include her children, Stokes Cook, James Cook, Louise Johnson, Robert Cook and George Cook; her grandchildren, Ava Cook, Susan Cook, Brandon Cook, Melvin Cook, Stacy Shell, Dawn Cook, Billie Johnson, Bobby Johnson, Rebecca Johnson, Cathy Johnson and Isaac Johnson, Jennifer Cook, Jamie Cook and Shelby Cook; several great grandchildren; her sisters, Carolyn Street and Betty Street; her brother, Jerry Street; and several nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Norma’s life will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 15, 2022 in the Rhododendron Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home of Roan Mountain. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel prior to the service on Friday. The graveside service will follow in the Knight Cemetery (Hampton Creek in Roan Mountain). Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
