Nancy "Brenda" Kyte Lynn

October 26, 1942 - December 4, 2021

Nancy "Brenda" Kyte Lynn, 79, of Jonesborough, TN left this earthly world unexpectedly and was embraced in the arms of Jesus, December 4, 2021. Brenda was loving, kind, patient, gentle, a true Proverbs 31 lady. She was a friend and loved by many that knew her and she showed love and kindness in return. Brenda was a strong Christian who never wavered in her faith. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Jonesborough, TN where she was active in Sunday School, Senior Trips, and served in several different capacities throughout the years and truly enjoyed helping others. Brenda graduated from Happy Valley High School in 1960 and went on to receive her Nursing Degree from E.T.S.U. She worked as a Registered Nurse for several years before becoming a Wife and Mother. In 1980, she and her husband started "Lynn & Co", a ladies clothing brand and they had a store in Jonesborough, Tn. Brenda's greatest joy was being a wife, mother and "Grammy". Curtis and Brenda had a one of a kind love story and marriage. They were still dating after 51 years of marriage. Their love for each other is beautiful, unconditional, undeniable and unbreakable. Together they have three daughters and nine grandchildren. As a mother and "Grammy" there wasn't anything she wouldn't do for them. She enjoyed cooking, family beach trips, shopping, puzzles & board games with the grandchildren, teaching her granddaughters to sew, braid their hair, and would even show them how she played basketball, "back when she was in school". Brenda is reunited with her parents John and Georgia Kyte, her in-laws, L.C. and Elsie Lynn, as well as several other family members and many friends. Brenda is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Curtis Lynn; three daughters, Kara Lynn of Jonesborough, TN, Heather Casteel (Chris) of Knoxville, TN and Amy Lynn-Sweeney (Don) of Topeka, KS; her grandchildren, Abby Presnell and Luke Presnell of Jonesborough, TN, Ryan Casteel, Emily Casteel, Jacob Casteel of Knoxville, TN, Tyler Lynn of Overland Park, KS, Lauren Sweeney, Emma Sweeney and Megan Sweeney of Topeka, KS; sister, Phyllis Gouge; brother, Rick Kyte; sister-in-law, Kay Chambers and several nieces and nephews. To celebrate a life well lived, we will join together at Trinity Baptist Church, Jonesborough, TN, Friday, December 10, 2021, at 1 p.m. for a service to honor Brenda, followed by a graveside committal service at Happy Valley Memorial Park, Elizabethton, TN. In lieu of flowers, donations in Brenda's memory may be sent to Agape Women's Services, Johnson City, TN or to Samaritan's Purse.
