Louise Holman Guy Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Louise Holman Guy, age 97, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 13, 2022 at her residence. Louise was born May 5, 1925 in Avery County, North Carolina to the late William Reece Holman and Loretta Pearl Blackburn Holman. In addition to her parents, Louise was also preceded in death by her son, Donald Edward Guy; two brothers, Howard Holman and Edward Holman; and four sisters, Virginia Maude Holman, Georgia Scott, Ina Ruth Byrd and Emma Jean Blevins. Louise retired from the Carter County Health Department where she had worked as a clerk and dental assistant for over 30 years. Louise was a member of Valley Forge Christian Church and enjoyed cooking, canning, quilting, crafting and her family was her greatest joy! Those left to cherish Louise’s many wonderful memories include her children: Patsy Holtsclaw, Glenn R. Guy and wife Betty Jane, Kenneth E. Guy and wife Zelma, Betty S. Vaughn and Elizabeth Guy; her grandchildren: Kelly Holtsclaw, Keith Holtsclaw, Keri Holtsclaw Miller, Chris Guy and wife Debbie, Missy Guy, Brian Guy, Scott Guy, Travis Guy, Shane Vaughn and Tracy Vaughn; 13 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; her sister, Shirley Smith and husband Sidney; and several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside service to honor and celebrate Louise’s life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. David Seibenaler officiating. Active pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Smith and Shannon Smith. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton on 10:15 AM to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to express a special thank you to Amedysis Hospice for the loving care given to Louise during her illness.
