Linda Lou Turbyfill

May 31, 1963 - January 21, 2022

Linda Lou Turbyfill, age 58, of Roan Mountain, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 21, 2022 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Linda was born in Mitchell County, North Carolina to the late Scott and Joyce Biddix Carpenter. In addition to her parents, Linda was also preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Carpenter Smith, her brother, Jimmy Dean Carpenter and a son, Lucas Chad Turbyfill at birth. Linda was a wonderful homemaker, wife and mother. Linda especially loved her son and she was a member of Berry Chapel Baptist Church in Spruce Pine, NC. Linda enjoyed fishing and loved all animals. She also enjoyed wrestling but her life was all about loving her “young’uns”. Those left to cherish Linda’s memory include her husband of 40 years, Hobert Turbyfill of the home; her son, Shawn Turbyfill and Gaither, whom Linda thought of as a son; two brothers, David Carpenter and Johnny Carpenter; sister, Cynthia Marcus; and special nephew and niece whom she thought of as children, Benjamin and Addison Turbyfill. A service to celebrate and honor Linda’s life will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 in the Rhododendron Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Roan Mountain with Reverend Randy English officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel prior to the service on Tuesday. The graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 in the Johnson Roanview Cemetery in Roan Mountain. Active pallbearers will be Robert Turbyfill, Ben Turbyfill, Adam Turbyfill, Mathew Clawson, Nate Clawson, Amces Clawson, and Laney Turbyfill. Honorary pallbearer will be Adam Turbyfill. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Tetrick Rhododendron Chapel at 1:30 PM on Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to especially thank the doctors and staff of the Johnson City Medical Center ICU Unit for the exceptional care shown to Linda during her illness.
