Judy Presnell, age 77, of Roan Mountain, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at her home. Judy was born in Banner Elk, North Carolina to the late Samuel and Pearl Jones Stanley. In addition to her parents, Judy was also preceded in death by all of her brothers, Kenneth (Patsy) Stanley, Ralph Stanley and Gayle Stanley; and her sisters, Florence (Bill) Hughes, Sue (Wade) Rogers; a great niece, Aimee Street; and a nephew, Bert Stanley. Judy had been employed as a bank manager at Carter County Bank and attended Harmony Free Will Baptist Church. Judy loved everyone and everyone in turn loved her. She especially loved her family, most of all her grandbabies and great grandbabies. She was selfless and devoted to her friends and family, likewise Judy was a strong and beautiful lady. Judy received several awards and recognitions through Carter County Bank. A professional grade seamstress, quilter and cook- Judy was a wonderful homemaker to her family. In fact, Judy was the glue of the family and always made sure everyone in the family stayed close and in contact. She will be missed greatly by her family and those that knew her. Those left to cherish Judy’s many wonderful memories include her husband of 58 years, Harry Presnell of the home; her two devoted children, Sonya (Joseph) Miller and Randy (Janet) Presnell; her grandchildren, Jordan (Matthew) Potter and Sydney (Nathaniel) Young; and her great grandchildren, who were the lights of her life, Paxton and Emmi Potter and Lyla Young; her best friend of 50+ years, Maxine Laws and her lifelong friend, Ondrea Clark; Many nieces, nephews and countless friends and extended family along with her sister-in-law, Peggy Stanley. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Judy Presnell will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 15, 2022 in the Stanley Family Cemetery with Pastor Brandon Young officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Jack Johnson will serve as honorary pallbearer. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 11:45 AM on Saturday. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Tetrick Funeral Home of Roan Mountain. The family wants to express a special thank you to Quality of Life and their wonderful staff, especially Dr. Famoyin, Sarah Hammons and their excellent nursing staff that showed such care and support to Judy and family during her illness.
