Judy Kay Mayse

June 6, 1950 - September 21, 2020

Judy K. Mayse, age 70, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 21, 2020 from her residence. Judy was born in Roan Mountain, Tennessee to the late Andy and Irene Townsend Rogerson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Paul Daniel Mayse; two brothers, Duck Hill and David Hill; and four sisters, Johnny May, Sherry Hill, Bit Hill and Frances Stout. Judy was a homemaker and had worked for many years as an assembler at the Tennessee Chair Company in Elizabethton. She was known for her kindness and her ability to love and be loved by everyone. She would do anything she could for anyone in need and she loved her children more than life. She had a huge and giving heart and was of the Pentecostal faith. Judy loved watching lifetime television, the Young and the Restless and the local news. She also loved to color and paint and then frame her works of art. Those left to cherish Judy’s wonderful memories include two children, Kayla Mayse and Madison Mayse; two brothers, Freddie Hill and Jimmy Hill; four sisters, Christine Willis, Debbie Hill, Barbara Melton and Wilma Stout; and her grandchildren, Kaylee Mayse, Khloe Mayse and Jordan “Bubba Reece. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. A service to celebrate Judy’s life will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Saturday, September 26, 2020 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Pastor Roy Reed, officiating. Music will be provided by Margaret Calderon and Kayla Mayse. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home, prior to service on Saturday. The graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 27, 2020 in the Highland Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Junior Gwinn, Bo Roache, Jose Salas, Lester Reece, Jackie Estep and Mark Penny. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 PM on Sunday. The family would like to express a sincere thanks and appreciation to Margaret Calderon for the love and care shown to Judy. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Carter County is mandating that all citizens who live in or visit Carter County wear masks in public. In keeping in accordance with this mandate, all visitors to the visitation and/ or the graveside service are required to wear a mask or facial covering.
