John Edward Miller

January 6, 1946 - December 1, 2021

John Edward “Rabbit” Miller, 75, of Butler, TN went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Johnson City Medical Center. John was the son of the late Herbert and Bonnie Miller. He was preceded in death by brothers, EC Miller and Roger Miller and three sisters, Ruth Dugger, Eula Reece, and Dorothy Hazelwood. John retired from the Carter County Bus Garage. He was a member of Elk Mills Christian Church and he dedicated his life to his family and community. He helped everyone and was loved by all. Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife Shirley; two daughters, Shanda and Cherish, and sons-in-law, Adam and Ryan. He is survived by three brothers, Wayne, Jerry, and Don, and his sister Gail, as well as several nieces and nephews. John will be laid to rest at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 5, 2021 in the Ward Family Cemetery, Avery County, NC with Reverend Keith Church officiating. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:45 P.M. on Sunday.
