June 5, 1941 - March 3, 2022
John Harrison Harr, Sr. son of James Edward Harr and Dorie Ann Harr, neé Falver, born on June 5th, 1941, was called home to be with the Lord on March 3rd, 2022. He is celebrated in life by Dorothy McCracken Harr, his wife and constant companion of 60 years, daughter Teresa Quillen & partner Tom Biggerstaff, son John H. Harr, Jr., and grandchild Ashten Hughes. Pall bearers include Tom Biggerstaff, Calvin Cook, Freddie Craft, Dennis McCracken, and Tim McCracken. Born in Blountville, Tennessee, John was a humble, salt of the earth man who lived to support his community as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He never met a task too small to be important or too large to tackle, whether it be changing a tire for someone in need and fundraising for his Bluff City cheerleaders, to building an entire house to ensure his own, and other families, had a place to grow and thrive. John’s love for his family was matched by his affinity for travel, camping, and fishing. Any free time not spent with his family, his summer garden, or the Mustangs he incessantly tinkered with was spent trying to capture memories from his yearly camping trips with the family. His affable nature gave him the ability to become fast friends with everyone he met. John will be immeasurably missed and the gratitude for the time he was allowed in our lives is endless. The family will accept guests on March 7th, 2022 at Tetrick Funeral Home – 245 Main St, Bluff City, TN 37618 – from 5:00pm-7:00pm, followed by a memorial service at 7:00pm by Pastor Mike Adams. American Sign Language interpretation provided by Jan Ditto. The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 in the Harr Family Cemetery, Island Road, Bristol, Tennessee. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 AM on Tuesday. Flowers may be sent to the address above or you may donate to the National Parks Service in his honor. Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.tetrickfuneralhome.com.
