Click on the link below to watch livestream of service. https://www.oneroomstreaming.com/view/authorise.php?k=160841762891265 Etta Sue Smith, age 74, of Butler, Tennessee went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 11, 2020 from the Sycamore Shoals Hospital, due to complications (after a valiant battle with) pneumonia and Covid-19. Sue was born in Carter County Memorial Hospital on May 16, 1946 to the late Dave and Ethel Clawson Rainbolt. Sue was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles “Bud” Rainbolt and John Rainbolt; and two sisters, Amy Ruth Williams and Lucille White. Sue married the love of her life, Bart Smith, on March 5, 1966 and they made their home in Butler, Louisiana, while Bart was serving his country as a serviceman in the United States Air Force. Sue was above all a homemaker, making a home for her husband and children was her crowning achievement. She was a hard worker and held many different jobs throughout her life. First as a cosmetologist, she was a talented hairdresser and much sought after for her quick wit and talent. She had also worked as a cook and drove a Carter County School bus for over 20 years. Sue will be remembered as a servant of God, she loved children and was instrumental in raising her grandchildren. Her love of church began as a member of Little Milligan Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and provided a message for the children each Sunday. Sue was a beloved member of her community and leaves behind many neighbors and friends who will miss her warm smile and helping hands. Those left to continue her legacy and cherish her many wonderful memories include her loving and devoted husband of 54 ½ years, Bart Smith, Jr., of the home; her daughters, Cindy and David Collins and Vicki Guinn and Keith Ingram; her beloved grandchildren, Danielle Guinn, Hannah Collins, Nate Collins, Pippa, Bryson and Zoey; her sisters, Mary Shaw, Francis Ward, Nancy and Fred Jenkins, Jane and Ron Miller and Brenda and Tom Penix. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Sue had several girls that she thought of as her daughters, Donna Holtsclaw, Becky Proffitt and Stacie Jennings. A service to celebrate Sue’s life will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 21, 2020 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton with Pastor Ronnie Campbell and Pastor Sammy Icenhour, officiating. Music will be provided by Racheal Trusler and Hannah Collins. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Monday. The service will be livestreamed and may be viewed at 2:00 PM on Monday or you may view at your convenience after the service on Monday.
