Ellen “Romaine” Watson, age 75, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 in the comfort of her granddaughter’s home. Ellen was born in Carter County, Tennessee to the late Earl and Ellen Renfro. In addition to her parents, Ellen was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Sheryl Edward Watson Sr; her beloved son, Sheryl Edward Watson II; her twin sister, Lorraine Renfro; her brothers, Dewey Renfro, Bill Renfro, Herb Renfro and Kenneth Wade Renfro; and her sisters, Joyce Richards and Mary Perry. Ellen was a member of Pleasant Beach Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 46 years. Ellen was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time and spoiling her grandsons, Jonathan and Jagger Campbell, her granddaughters, Maci Watson and Tiffany and her special niece, Khristin Renfro. Ellen enjoyed talking and spending time with her special friends, Alexia Cassell, Kathy Sexton, Will Sexton and Ryan Sexton and Alice Peters. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her daughter, Tammy Watson Whitehead; her granddaughters, Tiffany Whitehead Campbell and Maci Watson; her great grandson, Jonathan Campbell; and her great grandson, Jagger Campbell all of Elizabethton; her special nieces, Donna Renfro, Khristin Renfro, Cheryl Renfro Walker and Patricia Miller; her nephew, Keith Renfro; and her special lifelong friends, Pastor Bobby Stout and family, Tammy and Greg Ruston, Lee Cindy and Keisha Foley and Debbie Winters. The family would like to say a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice, the special nurses who cared for Ellen- especially Megan Renfro, the nurses at Sycamore Shoals Hospital and the staff of Smoky Mountain Medical Equipment as well as the Watson family for their kindness. Also to Pleasant Beach Baptist Church for the food they have brought and for their loving support. A service to honor the life of Ellen Watson will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Reverend Eric Heaton officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel prior to the service. The graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Jonathan Campbell, Ryan Sexton, Will Sexton and Todd Grindstaff. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton at 1:15 PM to go in procession to the cemetery. For everyone’s protection attendees should practice social distancing and are requested to wear face masks. Anyone who would like to visit the family in small groups may do so at her granddaughter’s (Tiffany’s) home at 283 Price Road, Elizabethton, TN.
