Clara Sue Storie Clawson, age 77, of Butler, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at the Life Care Center of Elizabethton. Sue was born in Elk River, North Carolina to the late Jessie James Johnson and Ruth Marie Turbyfill Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Johnson; and a sister, Louella Hicks. Sue had worked in a sewing factory and was a housewife. She was a member of Buck Mountain Baptist Church and Elk Mills Christian Church. Sue enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, canning and shopping for and collecting antiques. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Jeff Storie, Joan Storie and Joe Storie; three sisters, Margaret Powell, Rosalee Benefield and Brenda Gale Glover; three grandchildren, Derrick Storie, Adam Storie, and TJ Michaels. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Clara Sue Storie Clawson will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 in the Richardson Cemetery (Miles Field Road, Elk Park, NC) with Pastor Lynn Bennett officiating. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 PM on Tuesday. The family would like to thank Sue’s neighbor, Kathy Case, for the love and care given to Sue. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
