June 15, 1958 - November 19, 2021
Carolyn “Gigi” Vines, 63, of Jonesborough TN, was called home by her heavenly Father on November 19, 2021. Those that left before her were parents Bud Crain and Barbara Davidson, grandparents who raised her Carl and Lucille Whittimore. One baby she never met, a grandson Landon, a great-grand baby “peanut”, and mother-in-law Annis Coates. Left to cherish her memories include her husband Edwin “Rocky” Vines, who sat beside her to the very end. Seven children; The Twins, Barbara “Mickey” Tucker and Kristi Owens (Jason), and The Boys, Joe Barnett III and Joe Harvey (Danie), The Sisters, Rachel Vines, Leah Anderson and Heather Vines. One of her greatest blessings was being Mamaw. She was Mamaw to Whitney Miller (Casey), Jocelyn Tucker, Kelsey Gilmore (Caleb), Madelyn Tucker (Devin) , Lynsey Lefevers (Dawson), Jacob Tucker, Maggie Vanhover (Cody), Michael Owens, Rebecca Boardman (Robert), Anthony Cobb (Jonathan), Emma Harvey, Edward Harvey and Brendan Burton. Those blessings gave her more little blessings; Paisley Lucille, Theodore, Thomas, Remington, Waylon, Kassidi, Xander, Zoey, Nora, Sofia, and Lilly. She also left behind a sister Sharon Crain and very special cousins Zelliah Clark and Teresa Clark, and son-in-laws Tim Tucker and David Stills and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. There were many other people that called her Mom or Mamaw. Gigi was a member of Clark Street Baptist Church where she loved teaching the kids about the love of God, singing in the choir and sometimes sang the Sunday special. She loved her “praying peeps” Barbara Curtis and Kathy Meade just to name a few. Her passion was being a registered respiratory therapist working for many years at local hospitals with babies and kids and then she went to work at Mountain Home VA with veterans. Graduating in the top 10 of her class from ETSU and from Southwestern Community College with a 4.0 GPA to become a RRT. She developed many life long friends through this adventure in her life. If you met her there were two things you would have known, she loved her family and God. She would often say “Do you know Jesus and do you know where you are going when you croak?” She loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor. She was an avid UT Lady Vols fan and loved key lime pie that Casey never let her run out of. She loved the beach, reading her bible, listening to her family laugh, and telling people about Jesus. Her favorite verse was John 3:17 “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” The family of Carolyn “Gigi” Vines will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm, Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at Clark Street Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 8 pm. A private graveside committal service will be conducted at a later date in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please donate to St Jude Children’s Hospital or the Vanderbilt Pulmonary Clinic in her name.
