Artha Marie Loveless

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you.” 1 Peter 1: 3-4 KJV Artha Loveless, age 92, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at her residence. A native of Carter County, Artha was born on May 6, 1929 to the late Jett and Nell Ward Dugger. In addition to her parents, Artha was also preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, George Randolph Loveless; her brother, Jimmy Dugger; and her sisters, Laura Taylor, Luster Pate, Virginia Wilson, Sue Dugger and Hannah Whitehead. Artha was a wonderful homemaker, mother, wife and grandmother and was a member of Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church. Artha loved her family and her church family and will be dearly missed. Those left to cherish Artha’s memory include her daughter, Kathy (Kenny) Lethcoe; her special granddaughter, Cara Carr; her grandson, Jackson Richerson of Mobile, Alabama; and her granddaughter, Nora Grace Richerson also of Mobile, Alabama; her special friends, Jeff and Sandy Carr, Debbie Wilson, Sandi Harris and Haynes Carr. Several nieces, nephews, neighbors and her church family also survive. A service to celebrate Artha’s life will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 in the Union Hill Free Will Baptist church with her son-in-law, Pastor Kenny Lethcoe and Pastor Justin Deaton officiating. Music will be provided by her special granddaughter, Cara Carr (soloist).The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the church, prior to the service on Wednesday. The graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 AM on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Justin Deaton officiating. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Carr, Frank Arnett, Dale Colbaugh, Tommy Verran, Zach Ensor and Randall Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be Randall Babb and Dr. Jason Hatjioannou. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton at 10:45 AM to go in procession to the cemetery. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church, 125 Lane Hill Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643 in honor of Artha.
